Featuring an English Standard Version (ESV) text, this Bible will help you find confidence in your Scripture reading and historical understanding of the Bible. This eight-unit study includes instructions, Bible verses, a hymn relating to each of the topics, and review questions. Dive into the waters of God’s Word with your whole church, a small study group, or by yourself today. The LCMS was originally an exclusively German-language synod, so works published by CPH were in that language. Even after English language publications were introduced and ultimately became predominant, some German works were still being published until the 1970s.

In 1990, Mr. Schultz married Susan Wischmeier, a Lutheran school teacher, who grew up on her family’s farm outside of Columbus, Indiana. The Lord has blessed them with three children, Thomas (and wife, Allison), Mollie, and Abigail. Prior to arriving at CPH in 1998, he and his wife served as volunteer missionaries in Guatemala for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

Each daily devotion includes a Bible reading, meditation and prayer to apply to your daily life, published in multiple sizes and formats – pocket-size, large-print, digest-size and e-books – most convenient and usable for you. During the production process at CPH, a manuscript is sent to a reviewer who remains anonymous to those involved in the writing and editing of the material. The reviewer is given a defined timeframe to complete the review and return the manuscript to Concordia Publishing House, with an indication of any changes that need to be made prior to publishing the material. All material published has successfully passed the final step of a careful review that begins with the work done by the editorial staff at Concordia Publishing House and ends with final certification by the Synod's doctrinal review process. The President of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod has the responsibility for appointing doctrinal reviewers every three years.
